Duties

Help
  • Serves as Facility Assistant in a fitness facility. Works under the direction of the Fitness Facility Manager.
  • Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory. Provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment facilities and machinery.
  • Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts. Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance or referral, as appropriate.
  • Assists with the publicity of programs and events. Assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues and receives equipment to authorized users. Assists with the inventory of property. Monitors fitness equipment conditions; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and special events as needed
  • Must be in possession of a driver's license
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete a health screening.
  • Possesses the ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification and MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).

Qualifications

Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the NF-01 level.

Previous civilian fitness facility or military Physical Fitness Center (PFC) experience
Possess/demonstrate sound customer service, business management, and marketing skills
Demonstrated understanding of fitness equipment usage and maintenance
Possess the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED
Proven excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
