Under the Judiciary Act of 1867, Congress granted the Court authority to appoint a Marshal to oversee Courtroom operations, provide security for the Justices, and pay the Court's bills. The Marshal serves as the Court's chief security officer and facilities administrator, managing approximately 300 employees, including the Supreme Court Police Force.
Interns in the Marshal's Office assist with performing a variety of duties to include internal mail services, sorting and filing of documents, and receiving and distributing packages using assigned vehicles. Assist with a variety of duties during official Court ceremonies.
At least two semesters of undergraduate study are required.
Internship Program participants are eligible for the SmartBenefits transit subsidy. Please note that the Court does not offer a parking benefit.
