The HUD-VASH program, a partnership between the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Depart of Veterans Affairs, is a clinical case management program for chronically homeless Veterans aimed at providing psychosocial services to Veterans who acquire permanent housing through HUD's Section 8 voucher system.
The Supervisory Social Worker works for the HUD/VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program located at various sites within the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) catchment area. The Supervisory Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical oversight for staff members providing case management and other services to Veterans receiving housing assistance through the HUD Section 8 voucher system.
Supervisory Social Workers oversee the multi-disciplinary HUD-VASH staff at their respective CBOC or Main VA facility, including fellow Social Workers, Peer Support Specialists, Housing Specialists, Community Integration Specialists, and Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists. In addition, the Supervisory Social Worker may be asked to supervise a fellow Supervisory Social Work and to provide task supervision of RN, NP and/or Occupational Therapist HUD-VASH staff. The Supervisory Social Worker is responsible for the professional and administrative management of the HUD-VASH team assigned to them. The Supervisory Social Worker assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the HUD-VASH staff of their assigned team. The Supervisory Social Worker will assure the staff whom they supervise are aware of and adhere to all current directives of SFVAHCS and VHA, meet current JCAHO and CARF standards, state licensure standards, and VA-OIG expectations. The Supervisory Social Worker will conduct ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies. The Supervisory Social Worker may also provide direct clinical services. The Supervisory Social Worker must be licensed at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide clinical supervision for staff working towards their own professional licensure.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm or as determined by supervisor.
