The incumbent supervises BHIP Teams performing work at various disciplines and provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the BHIP. The incumbent exhibits leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for BHIP patient flow and staff workload through integrated of BHIP across the Fayetteville Enterprise and ensuring BHSL organizational mission and health care are provided efficiently. The incumbent performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised. Incumbent will have established guidelines and performance expectations for staff, clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. The incumbent works to resolves informal complaints and grievances. Develops work improvement plans, recommending and executes personnel actions as necessary. Provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests. The incumbent assures that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations.
The Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Manager manages the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) and is directly responsible to the Chief of the Social Work Division, BHSL or designee and ultimately to the Chief of Behavioral Health Service Services (BHSL). The incumbent assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures for the BHIP Program; supervising both general BHIP and specialty staff; and developing program or team goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing BHIP Program services for the Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System (FVACHCS). The incumbent assumes the supervisory and administrative responsibility for the management of the assigned staff who function within BHIP. The BHIP staff/Teams currently comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, clinical pharmacists, social workers, peer support and mid-level prescribers. The incumbent also provides direct clinical services as needed to include providing gap coverage within the BHIP teams and providing clinical services, team leadership and consultation to newly forming BHIP teams.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
