Drives a platform truck (tow truck) weighing up to 26,000 pounds to transport other vehicles, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions.
Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles.
Assist in preparing for and executing the Abandoned Vehicle and NAF Equipment Auctions.
Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
Moderate physical effort is required in making couplings and maneuvering the longer and heavier vehicles to be towed.

Applicant must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina.
Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.
Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.

Must possess a valid Class A driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina.
Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate.
Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles.
