Duties

Help
  • Serve as Construction Control Representative with project lead and Contracting Officer Representative responsibilities for job site construction control of contract work.
  • Monitor field engineering projects, construction inspection and/or construction management duties involving the erection of a new structure, the installation of equipment and systems.
  • Manage the alteration or major repair of an existing structure and other contract types to include supplies and services.
  • Projects are characterized by very novel and highly complex features that may be subject to conflicts and controversy, e.g., testing facilities, chemical labs, environmental mitigation, hazardous material/waste removal or similar projects.

  • The employee must possess or have the ability to possess certification as Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

  • This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing plans and specifications during planning and design stages; 2) Experience in identifying changes such as; delays, field condition weather conditions which may require a contract modification AND 3) Exercise surveillance over contract construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
