Duties

Help
  • Serve as an emergency management program coordinator, subject matter expert and consulting authority for the organization on assigned emergency management programs and policies.
  • Provide continuity and background knowledge for mitigation against, preparedness for, response to and recovery from an all-hazards emergency.
  • Plan and conduct emergency management training and education.
  • Prepare exercise After Action Reports and establishes corrective action plans as part of the annual EOP review.
  • Incorporate the National Incident Management System and National Response Framework structures into the MTF Emergency management program.
  • Request and justify an annual budget to support and sustain the emergency management program.

  • Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
  • This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays in the event of an emergency and or emergency drills.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes reviewing plans for emergency management operations; planning and conducting emergency management studies; and coordinating and developing joint emergency response plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
