Duties

Help
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly systems back-ups; troubleshoots and perform corrections on individual stations and network faults.
  • Provide database management for all program based relational database involving active data.
  • Provide technical assistance on individual station problems.
  • Performs all automation management/technical support duties to include: programming, improving operational capabilities, network management, developing local logistics automation programs.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures to identify and correct computer and telecommunications equipment deficiencies.
  • Provide customer assistance involving troubleshooting/problems to determine whether there are malfunctions, software or hardware issues or a lack of user understanding regarding the use of the equipment.
  • Design and/or change hardware and software configurations.
  • Maintain connectivity on the Local Area Network (LAN) working with the installation Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
  • Maintain automated targetry programs on assigned Ranges.
  • Maintain and update the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-09) in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing database management for program based relational databases and performing automation management/technical support duties to include programming, 2) Improving operational capabilities regarding network management, 3) Developing and monitoring local logistics automation programs, loading, maintaining and updating live fire safety data into the system. 4) Maintaining an active database on Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) aligned equipment and programs.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
