Duties

Help
  • You will perform a variety of clerical and administrative functions in support of technical project teams within waterfront projects, production shops, and product lines.
  • You will complete assignments that are diverse and multi-faceted, and encompass functions such as correspondence management, supply management, incentive awards, travel, training, and records maintenance.
  • You will prepare, from draft, a variety of correspondence ensuring compliance with Department of Navy and local regulations.
  • You will use office automation systems and applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point to perform administrative tasks.
  • You will participate in project team meetings to present data and information explaining administrative program information and requirements.
  • You will advise personnel at all levels (e.g., Project Engineer Planning Managers, Superintendents, Product Line Managers, Shop Managers, trades employees) on the practical and technical applications of office administration.
  • You will research technical rules, guidelines, regulations, and precedents in order to resolve issues, clarify information, and identify/promote alternative approaches to meet objectives.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support (e.g., office automation, correspondence, ordering supplies, records maintenance, awards, gathering project data, training and travel arrangements) in accordance with established guidelines and procedures for industrial shipyard project or programs.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
