Help
  • Receive inventory, issue and repair of tools, parts, equipment and supplies for facilities maintenance.
  • Issue tools and parts to work center personnel to complete maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain accountability on all stocked tools and parts, also research inventory discrepancies.
  • Review procurement requests for type of requirement, priority, quantity, estimated price, suggested sources, etc. to ensure request are correct.
  • Determine best supply source for tools and parts through research of a variety of references and material.
  • Credit card purchases are made through the use of the International Merchant Purchase Authorization Card (I.M.P.A.C.) credit card. Reconcile monthly credit card statement.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License/Certification with a capacity of up to 10,000 lbs within 12 months after hire.
  • A Tier 1, Non-Sensitive, Low Risk Background is required throughout the appointment.
  • An OGE 450 is required at appointment and annually.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools And Parts Attendant ~ without more than normal supervision. Applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: Issue tools and parts to work center personnel and ensure tools are stored at the correct location in the tool room. Order replacement tools by researching supply sources, price and function of tools and parts. Inspect tools for damage and wear performing basic repairs of damaged tools and parts. Maintaining accountability of all stocked tools and parts also research inventory discrepancies. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require constant standing, stooping, bending and climbing on ladders. Frequently lifts and carries tools and parts, supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier.
  • Working Conditions: Works in well-lighted and heated office, tool room, and shop area. Is exposed to the possibility of motor vehicle accidents. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and broken bones when handling heavy tools and parts. Outside work may require occasional exposure to inclement weather.
