Duties

Help
  • Ensure that proper documentation, justification, authorization and approvals meet local and federal requirements and have complete and correct nomenclature and suggested sources.
  • Place orders through various automated ordering systems.
  • Prepare claims against delivery carrier in the event of damages and/or shortages on shipments of material and equipment.
  • Review and troubleshoot discrepancies in billings.
  • Assure charges are to proper accounts, discounts are taken, and invoices/verification of receipt of items attached.
  • Assist the Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) in the administration of service and supply contracts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Qualifications:

GS-05
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing an automated ordering system to purchase supplies, materials, tools, or equipment for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Minimum Qualifications: GS-06Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying procurement procedures to support purchase of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; and 2) Making business-related purchases using a credit card and reconciling statements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05

.Minimum Qualifications: GS-07Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying procurement procedures to support purchase transactions of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment for an industrial plant; and 2) Using a government purchase card and reconciling transactions at the end of each billing cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, at the GS-06 and GS-07 grade levels, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent
- For GS-05 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent at the GS-04 .
- For GS-06 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent at the GS-05 .
- For GS-07 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent at the GS-06 .

Education
