Summary

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Everett. Incumbent provides lifeguard duties; is responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons at the assigned work area; assists with Aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation.

Duties

Help

  • Performs rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid and calls for medical assistance as necessary
  • Supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control
  • Enforces safety and pool regulations
  • Promptly reports safety hazards to supervisor
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds in the pool area
  • Responsible for testing chemical levels
  • Provides instruction to youth and adults in incremental swim lessons/lifeguarding/CPR courses
  • May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events
  • Schedule includes evenings and weekends
  • Indoor heated facility
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a responsible individual with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public.
  • A neat and clean appearance required. Incumbent will need to quickly acquire a basic knowledge of the rules and practices of the equipment used. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a 250-yard timed swim test.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification from an accredited organization.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
