Summary

This position is located at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta, GA, in Member Services, Health Eligibility Center (HEC) Office. You be responsible to verify income data with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) for Veterans whose eligibility for medical care is based on their income. You will serve as a Supervisory Management Analyst in the Income Verification Division of the HEC and is responsible for providing leadership and supervision.

Duties include but are not limited to the following.

Supervisory/Management 60%

  • Performs the following supervisory/management duties that take up the majority of this position's time:
  • Provides technical and administrative direction to unit employees resulting in the efficient accomplishment of work.
  • Determines educational and training needs for the unit and is responsible for ensuring that the proper resources and training have been provided to unit employees to achieve established goals and objectives. Coordinates needed training with others.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, realigning priorities as necessary to support internal and external business requirements and operation objectives. Approves and disapproves leave. Re-assigns employees to meet fluctuating workloads and changing demands.
Management Analyst Responsibilities 40%
  • Plans, develops, and conducts internal review studies of related Income Verification Division functions of substantial technical complexity. Plans, develops, maintains oversight, and ensures the execution of daily tasking's for the Income Verification team members.
  • Gathers, analyzes, interprets, and tracks data for monthly call monitoring/evaluations and number of cases adjudicated without discrepancies (monthly) for assigned team members. Determines team members' daily workload, monitors progress of cases assigned, identifies coaching opportunities and takes administrative corrective actions when needed.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the following:

Experience: Must possess one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled? To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11 of Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience includes providing technical and administrative direction to employees resulting in the efficient accomplishment of work; plans, schedules, and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates; ensures organizational goals, guidelines, and effectiveness in achieving intended objectives; develops and evaluates the performance of subordinate personnel.
