Duties

Help
  • Directs, obtains, maintains, and provides for proper usage of Security Forces equipment in order to meet unit objectives.
  • Tracks operational and performance data on tools and equipment to provide feedback for appropriate activity.
  • Directs repair of tools and equipment. Ensures timely calibration of equipment.
  • Maintains liaison with interservice, Air Force, MAJCOM, and other agencies to ensure proper acquisition, use, and maintenance of major equipment items required to support the unit.
  • Plans for the use of physical security equipment, ensuring the most efficient and economical combination of manpower and equipment.
  • Coordinates, and monitors short and long term equipment requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes equipment utilization and failure rates, repair and replacement costs, and technological advancements.
  • Manages Special Force equipment accounts. Requisitions all materials, equipment, and services necessary to support the function, to include self-help projects.
  • Maintains and utilizes current federal supply catalogs, stock lists, GSA catalogs, cross- reference lists, commercial manufacturer's parts lists, and catalogs.
  • Monitors, controls, and manages computerized status files concerning tools, equipment, and materials on order. Performs quality assurance by reviewing management data to ensure materials and tools are returned in a timely manner.
  • Manages and directs programs in support of SF deployment requirements.
  • As the Unit Deployment Manager, serves as the primary point of contact between deployment work centers for all deployable assets. Establishes a mobility bag management program.
  • Coordinates movement of equipment and material by all modes of transportation.
  • Operates and manages Special Forces storage facilities, to include geographically separated units and training sites.
  • Performs vehicle control responsibilities. Determines vehicle requirements, monitors vehicle status and training programs and reports and investigates incidents.
  • Provides munitions forecasting data for Special Forces requirements in coordination with the NCOIC of Combat Arms.
  • Performs and enforces the full range of SF duties within the military installation.
  • Apprehends and detains violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turns them over to the Federal, civil police, or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of collateral.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must undergo initial and periodic job compatibility assessments.
  • Must pass initial formal law enforcement training school as determined by functional manager (NGB/A7S).
  • Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in self-aid buddy care and first aid.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to allow full participation in all integrated base defense, security, resource protection, and anti-terrorism program exercises.
  • Temporary appointments are subject to termination at any time.
  • This position can be filled up to four years as long as funds are available to support it.
  • In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.

  • This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

  • Advanced in hire rate may be granted to set pay above the minimum rate of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualifications relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

Maximum Military Grade: MSgt (E-7)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations and procedures; possess skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; possess the ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective two-way radio or telephone communication; possess the ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly and effectively; possess the ability to assess body language and perceive immediate risk levels; possess skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material.

GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to direct, obtain, maintain, or provide proper usage of Security Forces equipment in order to meet unit objectives; develop plans for the use of physical security equipment to ensure the most efficient and economical combination of manpower and equipment; coordinate and monitor short and long term equipment requirements; repair tools and equipment and processes timely calibration of equipment; perform liaison duties to ensure proper acquisition, use, and maintenance of major equipment items required to support the unit; and skill in proper training on various types of security equipment in regards to operation, care, and maintenance. The specialized experience must also include experiences involved in reviewing and analyzing equipment utilization and failure rates, repair and replacement costs, and technological advancements; functional coordination methods to accurately estimate the cost of technologically advanced future equipment needs; requests for security equipment, determining needs and justifications, reviewing appropriate directives and other source material, and preparing any required forms; competency in preparing briefings through the review of resources management reports and inventories to advise leadership of the resource situation as it affects the unit mission; and performing and enforcing Security Forces duties, that may include apprehending and detaining violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turning these violators over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of collateral.

Education

Must possess a high school diploma.
