Help

As an IT Specialist (APPSW), you will:

  • Serve as the technical coordinator and leader for major studies and projects concerning the administration, management, development, and operation of Oracle EBS and data warehousing projects.
  • Serve as the Senior Oracle Systems Administrator for implementing and maintaining sound and integrated application development projects to enhance DFC's business management environment and maintain the operations and maintenance of Oracle EBS and EDW.
  • Serve as a technical authority and provide highly technical expertise in the development, design, implementation, safeguard, operations, maintenance, and control of Salesforce applications utilized by DFC and its customers.
  • Oversee work using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of efforts to analyze and refine systems requirements to meet business units' and customers' needs; to translate systems requirements into applications prototypes; to plan and design systems architectures; to test applications; and to write and maintain program documentation.
  • Serve as the Project Manager (PM) for DFC's Oracle applications.
  • Develop and maintain DFC's Data Governance procedures and policies.
  • Serves as Oracle Developer including working with business offices to collect requirements; translating customer requirements and system demands into technical requirements; building custom reports and dashboards; preparing reports for DFC offices; meeting with project managers to determine Customer Relations Management (CRM) needs; developing customized solutions within the Oracle platform; designing, coding, and implementing Salesforce applications; creating timelines and development goals; testing the providing technical training for DFC staff; maintaining the security and integrity of the application software.

Qualifications

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.

TIME-IN-GRADE
: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
In addition to the Basic Requirement listed above, you must meet the required specialized experience listed below.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your experience in all of the following:
1) Experience managing an enterprise-level Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) in a large platform service environment;
2) Experience setting standards and operation procedures for data management;
3)Experience with performance tuning on Oracle databases.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
