  • Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and assists in the formation of EA Export Control Office as tasks are established to accomplish Directorate goals and ensure the delivery of quality products and services.
  • Collaborates with Directorate customers, Center Export Services Team, and divisional technical representatives to maintain export control compliance and foster collaboration aligned with Engineering Directorate needs.
  • Serves as an Engineering Directorate Export Control Representative (ECR) with delegate authority to represent the Directors of Engineering on Export Control matters and point of contact for the Engineering Directorate expedited export requests.
  • Provides guidance, and Export Control Record stewardship to assure adherence to federal export control regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures related to export controls.
  • Disseminates information and develops procedures to facilitate compliance with export control regulations.
  • Conducts periodic audits of the Directorate’s export control transactions and recommend opportunities for changes in managing and implementing Directorate practices.
  • Assists in the development of an Engineering Export Control Help Desk to receive and track support requests and recommend improvements or advancements of streamlined tools.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

  • Applying export control laws and requirements for any shipment, transfer, or transmission of an item (hardware, software, technology, or technical information) out of the United States, or to a foreign national or a representative of a foreign government and/or company (within or outside the United States);
  • Assisting process implementations from inception to final delivery while communicating deadlines and completing integrated assignments on schedule utilizing electronic tools, such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint;
  • Supporting collaboration with technical representatives and/or senior stakeholders.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

  • Providing oversight and applying export control laws and requirements for any shipment, transfer, or transmission of an item (hardware, software, technology, or technical information) out of the United States, or to a foreign national or a representative of a foreign government and/or company (within or outside the United States);
  • Conducting process implementations from inception to final delivery while communicating deadlines and completing integrated assignments on schedule utilizing electronic tools, such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint;
  • Collaborating with technical representatives and/or senior stakeholders.
