Duties

Help
  • Support the Deputy Program Manager for Operations (DPMO) in managing programmatic responsibilities related to Space Communications and Navigation Program (SCaN) Network Operations.
  • Ensure the continuous availability of operational communication services through strategic and programmatic oversight.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of the SCaN Network Operations annual budget preparation, reviewing and providing guidance on SCaN Network Operations risks, liens, threats, and reserves. Advise the DPMO on appropriate mitigations.
  • Oversee the development of a transition plan to commercial services and assessing the SCaN Network Operations future spending to ensure our business strategy is achievable.
  • Assist the DPMO in serving as the focal point internally to other SCaN elements and SCaN Boards and externally to stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Provide technical, cost, schedule and risk status ensuring alignment and collaboration across the agency.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.


To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Providing guidance and strategies in areas such as strategic planning, business administration, budget, cost estimating, or schedules;
  • Communicating with leadership and internal/external stakeholders, to identify requirements, risks/issues and recommend solutions;
  • Developing, maintaining, monitoring, and providing efficient implementation of program requirements.
