Summary

As the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Business Relationship Manager (BRM), you will partner with the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Engineering Directorate to enable their business needs, perform technical integration, and build their Information Technology (IT) strategy by providing expert knowledge and solutions. You will provide IT guidance to ensure mission success and alignment with the OCIO policies and procedures to meet NASA's goal of leading in human exploration of space.

Help
  • Analyzes specific problem areas and participates in the development of system requirements and determination of viable solutions for system redesign, modifications to software, or changes to procedures.
  • Builds and sustains effective communications with all partners and cross-functional teams to maximize the customer experience.
  • Communicates organization strategic plan, mission, vision, and values and integrates them into the strategic goals, objectives, and work within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO); communicates the teams' milestones.
  • Focuses on customer needs; identifies information system requirements, develops project estimates, schedules, and contingency plans; collects, analyzes, communicates, and validates changes to business process/policies and information system.
  • Partners with customer organizations to deliver innovative business solutions to meet customer organization needs, including appropriate leveraging of Agency and Enterprise level contracts.
  • Provides leadership to resolve and track complex/systemic problems using innovative approaches. Integrates and collaborates with NASA stakeholders at all levels and including external partners.
  • Understands and communicates the services and capabilities provided by the enterprise. Partners across all OCIO to constantly refine service line operations, identifying areas for innovation, duplication, and improvement.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex problems in response to customer reported incidents;
  • Collaborating across programs/organizations to perform needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business processes, solutions, and services based on customer needs;
  • Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
AND

IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
