Help
  • Leads a diverse, distributed organization providing solutions and enabling infrastructure for complex challenges, enhancing decision-making and automating processes addressing Mission, Mission Support, and Center needs.
  • Collaborates with the Agency Enterprise Business Management Office (EBMO) and Cybersecurity and Privacy Division (CSPD) to enable Agency-wide acquisition, governance and utilization of cloud services.
  • Collaborates with organizations across NASA on the development and execution of cloud and data center policies and initiatives enabling NASA's missions and ensuring alignment with NASA's strategy and federal requirements.
  • Collaborates with Strategy and Architecture Office to create and implement NASA IT strategy, roadmap, and standards for cloud and computing services, including infrastructure and platform as a service and other related products and services.
  • Oversees the governance, management, and operations of NASA’s cloud services; Leads efforts to transform and modernize current cloud environments expanding access to products and services while simplifying and streamlining.
  • Oversees NASA's data center facilities and operations. Partners with Office of Strategic Infrastructure and Centers transforming these facilities to regional NASA-wide assets, reducing duplication, cost, and increasing effectiveness.
  • Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
  • Seeks to mature and evolve skill sets OCIO-wide by establishing a vibrant community of practice that promotes employee development through mentoring, career path development and rotational assignments.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Developing, leading, and inspiring cross-functional teams to meet IT service delivery requirements and formulating new concepts to achieve organizational key objectives;
  • Providing guidance and organizational oversight of budgets and government contracts to ensure requirements are being met;
  • Leading data center, compute, storage, or cloud services teams that develop or deliver IT capabilities, products or solutions to enable multiple complex and diverse missions and functions.
AND

IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
