  • Advise unit on policies and procedures to accomplish administrative tasks such as acquisitions, payroll, human resources, agreements, travel, facilities, and safety.
  • Assist with coordination of clerical and administrative functions to ensure management priorities.
  • Perform manual and/or automated records management with attention to data and record regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize computer's software package to prepare reports, graphics, spreadsheets, and charts to complete work tasks.
  • Establish annual operating budget by collecting data to analyze the cost of project proposals, staffing levels, and procurement of goods and services.
  • Administer cost effective methods of financial management for procurement activities that support unit objectives.
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, and services for unit using established procurement methods.
  • Perform general management support services to maintain and dispose of equipment to support unit.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. For more information on the qualifications for this position, visit the Office of Personnel Management's General Schedule Qualification Standards.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
For the GS-7 level:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting two or more of the following:
Collected and analyzed budgetary information and statistical data for use in the formulation and execution of budget requests and reports;
Purchased supplies, equipment, and services;
Created travel orders and vouchers;
Composed, typed, and proofread correspondence and narrative and tabular material (i.e., databases and spreadsheets).
OR
Possess one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education containing coursework directly related to the work of the position (for example Business or Public Administration, or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled);
OR
Possess an appropriate combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience.

The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be further evaluated against criteria for placement in the Quality category. This evaluation is based on the level of your experience, education, and/or training as determined by your responses to the Assessment Questionnaire.
