The area of consideration for this position is CAT 1 (Areas 1) (NCARNG) Dual Status TECHNICIANS ONLY. Applications will only be accepted from current employees of the North Carolina Army National Guard with permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) or excepted indefinite (Tenure 3) status.
As an AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, WG-4818-10 (NIGHT SHIFT), you will inspect, test, certify, repair, assemble and maintain ALSE to include aircraft/aircrew electronic communications equipment, and aircraft-oxygen related items, aircraft modular survival system, life preservers, helicopter emergency egress devices, first aid kits and microclimate cooling vests; instruct crewmembers in all categories of ALSE; instruct aircrew and other personnel such as aircraft maintenance personnel, aircrew and non-aircrew members of other services and agencies in the care, use, theory of operation and capabilities of ALSE used in a variety of global environments; certify initial and continuation training of aircrew and other personnel; comply with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations; supervise, instruct, train and certify traditional Guard members on all facets of the aircrew life support career field; performs task evaluations and documents OJT records; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises; prepare Annual Budget analysis and projections for ALSE shop operations; perform other duties as assigned.
Military Grades: Enlisted (E7 and below), Warrant Officer (CW3 and below)
Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Night Shift) Experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential.
