As a Supervisory Auditor (Performance), you will:
- Develop overall work plans, strategies, and objectives, including priorities for the multiple audits conducted by the group.
- Ensure that the results of the individual assignments are consistent with auditing standards and objectives set by higher levels of management.
- Conduct group meetings disseminating and communicating to subordinates significant information that is received through monitoring and liaisons.
- Develop and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all parties in TIGTA and the IRS; foster a positive employee relations climate, meet with staff members to communicate TIGTA and IRS goals, commitments, and to promote positive staff morale.
- Maintain necessary technical and managerial skills. Use effective monitoring and evaluation procedures that ensure timely, high quality results.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
