Sets up and assists in the operation of special equipment. Orients staff and patients in the use of this equipment. Shares responsibility for ensuring that medical equipment is functional and safe; reports any evidence of malfunctioning.
Assists in the coordination of patient care activities with other departments/services.
Monitors and adds IV solution in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act.

Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting (35 pounds and over), moderate carrying (15-35 pounds), pushing, pulling, reaching above the shoulders, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending, use of arms and legs to climb, sitting, twisting, simple grasping, and fine manipulation. All physical requirements are intermittent in nature but can be expected to recur for 8 to 12 hours. The employee must be able to utilize safe patient handling equipment and techniques in lifting, moving, and transferring patients.
