The Associate Chief Counsel, Procedure & Administration located in Washington, DC, comprises approximately 100 attorneys and 80 support personnel. The primary work areas provide legal services in federal tax procedure and administration. The office's responsibilities include legal issues arising out of the assessment and collection of federal taxes, bankruptcy, ethics, abatement, credits, refunds of federal taxes, disclosure of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act matters, and judicial proceedings which include technical electronic discovery (eDiscovery) litigation support.

Specialized Experience: Your resume must detail at least one year of specialized experience which includes assisting office staff in preparing documents and other materials required by policy and/or regulation; scheduling calendar meetings/hearings; preparing and publishing correction notices for existing publications.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-7).

Education Substitution: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D. in a related field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education: Options for qualifying based on a combination are identified in the online questions.
