Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a LABORER without more than normal supervision. Must have the ability to operate equipment such as pumps or motors; operate power equipment such as chain saws, jack hammers, compactors, or power trimmers; dig ditches, drive stakes, mix and pour cement; use a crowbar, hand tamper, hoe, rake, dolly or hand truck; or, perform light grounds maintenance and clean restrooms, picnic shelters, RV dump stations, boating facilities, pumphouses, storage buildings, park offices, and litter collection. Work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: The incumbent exerts very heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects over 50 pounds, running power mowers on grades or pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads.
Working Conditions: Works outside in all kinds of weather, and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. The equipment, tools, and tasks involved frequently require special care to avoid serious injuries.
