As a Student Trainee Management Analyst, you will:
-Perform work as a part of a team in conducting and performing analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of programs and or the efficiency of the management of operations intended to provide the incumbent with a good working knowledge of Department programs, policy, regulations, and implementing legislation.
-Review and summarize information needed by higher graded specialist or supervisor.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-5, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Using computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheet to perform automated tasks such as entering and retrieving data into or from existing spreadsheets and producing various standardized documents using established formats.; AND
- Reviewing outgoing correspondence and reports for format, grammar, typographical accuracy, conformance with established procedures, and confirming that all required background information is attached.
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: For the Pathways Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study or a Bachelors degree. (This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.)
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:
A. Must be a current student at an accredited high school (public or private) or in a home-school program*; college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. *Secondary home-school curricula must be recognized by the State or local government oversight agency.
B. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. C. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
