Current federal Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) employees.
Develops weekly, monthly, and annual work schedules. Develops regular work plans. Based on general instructions from the supervisor, the employee works with the crew to prioritize, coordinate, and accomplish routine work for optimum safety and operations, least adverse impact on landowners, the public, other agencies, and customers whose activities or property may be involved, and fair utilization of personnel. Provides leadership to ensure that the crew has clear work assignments and understands what is expected of them.
Meter & Relay Craftsman performs the following: Maintain, repair, modify, program, install and commission power system substation protection control, monitoring and metering equipment.
Maintain, repair, install, program, and test revenue metering equipment, including electronic and microprocessor based kilowatt-hour meters, digital demand recorders, panel meters, transducers, and instrument transformers. Maintain, repair, install, program, and test control equipment used in controlling substation equipment.
Qualifications: You must have journeyman-level ability in the duties of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader (Foreman I M&R). You must meet all the qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.
Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be reviewed by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
