The NCUA protects consumers' rights through effective enforcement of federal consumer financial protection laws, regulations, and requirements.
The Deputy Director, OCFP will:
In support of the OCFP Director, provide oversight on the implementation of programs, procedures and policies to ensure the agency fulfills the responsibilities of ensuring credit unions are following applicable statutes and regulations for consumer financial protection.
Serve as the subject matter and policy expert on a range of consumer financial protection, financial inclusion and financial literacy issues to other offices in the agency, board members, and the broader credit union industry. Provide a regulatory framework that is transparent, efficient, and improves consumer access.
Oversee the development of financial literacy and education programs to support and promote credit unions' statutory mission to promote thrift and responsible credit use among members. Oversee programming and outreach, industry support and engagement, policy and data analysis, research, and product development. Many of the NCUA's financial literacy program outreach efforts are national, collaborative campaigns composed of government, non-profit and private sector entities. Participate in national financial literacy initiatives, including the Financial Literacy and Education Commission, an interagency group created by Congress to improve the nation's financial literacy and education.
Provide recommendations to assist the Director in establishing and recommending long range program plans, goals, objectives and milestones in support of the NCUA's strategic plan as related to consumer financial protection and consumer financial literacy.
Review, establish, and monitor completion of the OCFP program goals, objectives, and priorities, which serve as a basis for substantive change in the organization and administration of consumer financial protection programs.
Supervise, manage and provide direction to Division Directors within OCFP responsible for developing and implementing, procedures to enforce consumer financial protections regulation, laws and procedures for credit unions that are under the prudential regulatory authority of NCUA.
This position does not have an education qualification requirement.

SALARY: Salary is set by the NCUA Board, unless delegated to the Executive Director, and is based on the position's and the individual's potential contribution to the agency's overall strategic goals and the executive and technical qualifications of the successful candidate.
