As Deputy Director, Service Delivery Staff, the incumbent has an essential role in this mission through customer focused operations of enterprise-wide services and the Justice Management Division (JMD). The position of Deputy Director, Service Delivery Staff (SDS) reports to and partners closely with the OCIO Director of SDS to enable the transformation to a customer solution driven information technology environment at DOJ.
The Deputy Director is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in IT strategy, ideation, system design, planning, sourcing, integration, and performance evaluation for enterprise IT services for DOJ.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing the implementation of new services or major changes to existing services. Ensuring that major technical investments undertaken are executed according to a sound and strategically prioritized technical framework.
- Responsible for the overall IT service strategy and roadmap execution, as well as the process of continuous performance improvement of end-user services.
-Monitoring process improvement and implementing ITIL® across OCIO. The Deputy Director will support the Director, SDS with addressing new and existing service development challenges in a way that allows each effort to add to the evolution of a modern and efficient technology management landscape at DOJ.
- Leading OCIO Business Relationship Management focused on providing centralized outreach and integration across all OCIO service offerings directed toward addressing the needs of DOJ component organizations. Directing and managing OCIO knowledge, services, competencies, and offerings to continuously improve the service and relationship with component organizations.
- Responsible for the on-going operations for the existing information technology (IT) needs of both the Justice Management Division (JMD) and DOJ's Senior Leadership Offices (SLOs) along with the enterprise services operated by OCIO for the entire Department of Justice.
- Overseeing the DOJ Service Desk which provides 24/7 support across a broad portfolio of IT services ensuring timely resolution of service requests. The Deputy Director will oversee the maintenance and operation of the DOJ Service Desk, which serves as the first point of entry for customers who are experiencing an IT-related disruption in service. This includes user account management services, training, assistive technology needs, customer relationship management, and 24/7 enterprise monitoring of mission-essential functions.
- Working with the SDS Director, the Deputy Director will manage the SDS budget, reviewing expenditures, and determining priorities based on annual allotments. Providing oversight for working capital and other specific funds for SDS, tracking through the course of the fiscal year to determine if the expenditures are achieving the goals set out in the CIO Strategic Plan.
-Ensuring that internal DOJ policies and business practices are aligned with all relevant federal laws, directives, and regulations including FISMA, ISO 20000, and GAO among others. Providing authoritative interpretation and advice regarding federal and department IT policies, standards, and procedures.
-The incumbent will serve as the primary DOJ OCIO advisor on issues related to enterprise IT development, operations, infrastructure, and maintenance.
