Maintenance Control Manager / PD# 03578-0
Plans, evaluates, and maintains technical surveillance over VHA owned/operated production operations. Provide expert advice and counsel on a variety of policies and/or procedures. Develops position papers and decision documents representing the position of the Office of the AUSH/S on a variety of complex and sensitive issues regarding Environmental Programs Service. Leads or independently conducts analytical studies on particular operational processes, issue topics, or related projects. Prepares appropriate reports, responses, proposals, and guidelines when problems are
identified providing corrective actions. Provides authoritative technical information, assistance, and advice concerning facilities, machinery, methods, materials, and standards for VHA owned/operated industrial textile and processing operations. Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to make and repair items made of fabric or leather. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, benefits, repair, operation, and maintenance. Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Effectively expresses information to multiple audiences through clear, convincing oral and written communications; demonstrates logical thinking when describing facts and concepts, and shapes communications to meet the needs of a specific audience; actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding of their comments and/or questions. Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. Effectively expresses information to multiple audiences through clear, convincing oral and written communications; demonstrates logical thinking when describing facts and concepts, and shapes communications to meet the needs of a specific audience; actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding of their comments and/or questions.
