The Office of Financial Management (AFM) provides financial oversight and information on the use of agency financial resources. The organization establishes financial system requirements, supports Delphi, PRISM, and Cost Accounting System (CAS), and controls property capitalization and reporting. AFM, prepares FAA for the annual financial audit, the agency financial statements, and performance and Accountability Report. Assists with Agency realignments, and provides program management for the Organization Change Team.
The duties of this position will serve within one of the division in the Office of Financial Management (AFM).
The accountant will perform basic but progressively more difficult assignments under the close direction of a manager, program manager , team leader, or more experienced professional. Typically acts as a member of a team for projects programs within a defined area of responsibility.
Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements and other reports to meet reporting requirements. The incumbent will examine, analyze, interpret and report on financial data and records. Applies basic knowledge applicable to financial systems support with limited experience to accomplish related assignments. typical assignments may include: provide support for financial oversight and information on the use of agency financial resources; assist with financial system requirements by supporting Delphi, PRISM, and Cost Accounting System (CAS), and controls for property capitalization reporting; assist with preparation of FAA annual financial audit, the agency's audited financial statements, and Performance and Accountability Report; provide assistance with Agency realignments and program management for the Organization Change Team.
During all analyses and review activities, the incumbent prepares formal documentation and presents results to management and others Monitors and tracks the execution of financial plans. Prepares reports and performs other miscellaneous tasks in support of budget and financial management functions. Conducts research on legislation and applies policies and procedures to identify problems. Uses research for data analysis, tools, and techniques to assess risk.
Coordinates with a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional to plan time and use assigned resources to accomplish tasks.
Established policies/procedures provide detailed guidance for almost all assignments, with little or no room for secretion. Works under detailed instructions provided by a manager, program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.
Work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality.
Qualified applicants must demonstrate in their resume possession of at least three (3) years of progressively responsible GENERAL EXPERIENCE, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least the FV/FG/GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: 1) Gather and analyze financial data, reconcile financial statements, and other financial records, (2) work with others in support of meeting organizational objectives and goals, (3) translate financial information and concepts to individuals and groups through different forms of communicating and (4) conduct financial analyses using advanced functions in Microsoft Excel.
