Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired original or certified copies. - Provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. (Birth certificate showing birth in the U.S; Unexpired U.S. Passport; Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization; or Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen (Form FS-240))
- The employment of any candidate, including a current employee or a new hire, selected for this position may be conditional upon classification and/or audit of federal tax returns. This audit may include up to 2 years of returns.
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
BASIC REQUIREMENT: To qualify for this position at this grade level you must: Be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED and have at least 6 months of general clerical related experience. This experience could have been progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular competencies needed to perform the duties of this position. This may be paid or non-paid experience.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-03 LEVEL: Completion of an intensive, specialized course of study of less than 1 year may meet in full the experience requirements for GS-03. Courses of this type normally require completion of up to 40 hours per week of instruction rather than the usual 20 hours per week and are usually of at least 3 months duration. Such courses may have been obtained through a variety of programs such as those offered by business or technical schools, and through military training programs. To be creditable, such a course must have been designed specifically as career preparation for the work of the position being filled and must have provided the applicant with the necessary competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work.
OR
EDUCATION: One (1) year of education above the high school level in any field of study obtained from an accredited junior college, college, university, business, secretarial or technical school. This means at least thirty (30) college semester/ forty-five (45) college quarter hours of education or 20 hours of formal classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school equaling 720 hours. Completion of an intensive, specialized course of study of less than one (1) year may meet in full the experience requirements for GS-03.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent amount of combined education and experience. The equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total requirements.

You must be able to speak, read and write the selected language in order to be considered proficient in that language.
