The mission of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is to support and protect the U.S. Postal Service and its employees, infrastructure, and customers; enforce the laws that defend the nation's mail system from illegal or dangerous use; and ensure public trust in the mail. Performs oversight, coordination, training, and evaluation of headquarters intelligence development, investigative analyses, and audit activities; develops methods and practices governing the development and distribution of strategic and tactical analytic services and products. Oversees investigative analyst training programs, including monitoring and evaluation of career progression program, and the development of performance standards and certification processes.
