- Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday Day Shift 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
-Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available.

Employees must be within a 150-mile radius of their official assigned post-of-duty (POD) while in a telework status. Once normal operations resume, employees may be directed back to the office to perform the duties of their position. Telework eligibility does not guarantee telework; employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the IRS Telework Program. As a reminder - If you are selected for a position, you are responsible for reporting to your designated POD (location) on the negotiated start date or as directed by management.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
BASIC REQUIREMENT : You must have one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) in the Federal government.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION FOR GS-05: Specialized experience is experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Examples of qualifying experience include experience gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data.

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a bachelor's degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university. OR Which of the following is true about your education and/or experience?

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: For positions above the GS-05, applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the grade you are applying for.

If you are determined tentatively qualified based on your responses to the online questions, you may receive an email directing you to the on-line assessment (Self-Assessment/Job Simulation Assessment) that will include instructions for accessing the assessment website and user log-in. The on-line assessment must be completed within the timeframe of the open testing period indicated in the email. If you pass the on-line assessment, you will be assigned to one of three quality level categories, (i.e., Best Qualified, Highly Qualified or Qualified) depending on your overall score from the assessment.
PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT (OFFICE AUTOMATION): In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to type 40 words per minute. Applicants may be asked to participate in a typing/performance test, provide a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency (which may be verified at a later step in the process). Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
Employees must be a current . You must be in the current position and grade level, be able to demonstrate the level of knowledge necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position, and have a current performance appraisal rating of fully successful or above.

EDUCATION DOCUMENTATION
