The position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is the subject matter expert in translating DoD Human Resource IT requirements to leadership as well as provides the vision for enterprise information and security architectures, future direction, new technologies, re-engineering processes and systems modernization. The incumbent represents DHRA/DMDC to build consensus across the Department for standards, policy, guidance and technology definition to support the Department HR and identity management suite. The CTO will craft the DMDC vision and roadmaps for new innovative technology in support of our services and solutions. Serves as the senior subject matter expert for information technology (IT) and IT policy for DMDC and DHRA solutions. These solutions provide information and services across a $500M annual portfolio that includes 162 Systems supported by 600 applications and 400 data assets, which must be available on a timely basis to meet all DoD and Federal mission requirements. This includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Background Investigation: This position is designated special sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R and therefore requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated for security eligibility on a pre-appointment basis. This requirement may take 120 days or longer to process. The incumbent must complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and favorable adjudication by a determining authority and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance and access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
