This Vacancy is using the Direct-Hire authority to recruit for positions for which there is a critical hiring need. This position is located at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Financial Management Systems (OFMS).
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) you will be responsible for evaluating available tools, methodologies, and processes for feasibility in improving the OFMS effectiveness and efficiency in meeting the requirements, functions, and services of its automated financial systems.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience serving as a lead java developer, in the development of new or existing automated systems with experience in Agile and/or Waterfall software development methodologies, for a multibillion dollar company or agency.
Experience functioning as a lead developer, in the operation and maintenance of systems including enforcing IT security policies, principles, and standards
Experience identifying and documenting solutions to information security problems/issues and recommending changes to prevent recurrences.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education may not be substituted for experience at this grade level.
