Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/ program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Understands how his/her technical area interacts with or is affected by other disciplines, and considers the objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/SO when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems. Provides recommendations to improve work processes.
Contributes to the preparation of management/technical reports or contractual documents, and may communicate the overall results of a project or work activity to FAA management, industry, and other external parties. Maintains the highest degree of technical/program knowledge related to the integration and operation of services provided by the Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS) Traffic Production Center (TPC). Familiarize with the weekly configuration management of airlines’ schedule changes and updating the TFMS database for accurate download to operational entities, on an as needed basis; complete two-day TPC on-site familiarization with weekly site configuration process.
Resolves all but unique technical problems without the intervention of management or a more experienced technical specialist. Identifies and informs management of problems that require their attention. Often develops and recommends techniques to address problem situations. Develop familiarization with OSS process of troubleshooting and resolving TFMS System Display maintenance (TSD) performance shortfalls; escalate known, recurring problems related to these LAN/WAN environments and make recommendations to management and Second Level Engineering.
Incumbent applies experience and advanced technical knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies. Mandatory attendance of the on-site ATCSCC 50113 Traffic Management Class Reviews TFMS outage reports for accuracy of reporting and content, and correlates outages to NAS interruptions. Ensures RMLS entries are entered and updated to reflect the most accurate information for TFMS and Enterprise Service Interruptions. Participate in RMLS and ticketing enhancement initiatives as needed.
Must be able to effectively express ideas and resolve divergent viewpoints with tact and diplomacy. The ability to prepare acceptable written material is required. Incumbent must develop a solid understanding of Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC) operations. Collaborates with Air Traffic Systems Operations, Technical Operations National Operations Control Center (NOCC), Program Management Office (PMO), and other Tech Ops personnel as needed, regarding scheduling & execution of TFMS maintenance activities ensuring minimum impact to operations.
