The Nurse Practitioner (NP) serving as Clinic Practice Manager (CPM) of a Primary Care clinic provides management and leadership of interdisciplinary patient care services within the Primary Care Division (PCD). The NP CPM will be responsible with the Clinical Nurse Manager for the daily operations of the assigned practice group. The incumbent will be the first line supervisor for physicians and nurse practitioners within their practice group. Each NP CPM will be a member of the Primary Care Division Management Team, including both the CPM Management Group and the Primary Care Operations Group and be responsible for assigned clinical leadership duties.
The NP CPM will be attentive to the concerns and needs of staff members that garner involvement and participation in program development and decision-making, and later, implementation stages or phases. The incumbent is also knowledgeable and skillful in current labor relation practices and laws, and the concepts of AFGE Union partnership. The incumbent will promote appropriate staff education and development programs, and demonstrate a commitment to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity and positive labor relations. The NP CPM will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, annual performance evaluations and addressing performance and conduct issues in a timely manner. The incumbent will be responsible for the time and attendance of all providers working in the group practice including leave planning, so that the clinic is adequately staffed during any time of operation.
The NP CPM will have responsibility for providing primary care to a defined panel or primary care patients. S/he is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to excellent clinical care. The incumbent will assure the policies, practices, and services within their group practice are consistent with the mission and vision of the Primary Care Division, VAPORHCS, the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 20 - VA Northwest Health Network, and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Central Office. The NP CPM will work with other divisions within the medical center to achieve compliance with internal and external regulatory and accreditation standards, such as TJC and OSHA. The NP CPM is responsible for working with· Primary Care Division and other divisions within the medical center to achieve quality care standards, productivity targets, efficiency and process improvement, patient satisfaction goals, accessibility to care standards, and meet performance targets, including External Peer Review Program (EPRP) and Advanced Clinic Access (ACA) measures.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; varying tours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
