The incumbent oversees all functions related to healthcare providers' professional credentials supporting all divisions of the VAMC. The Supervisory Health System Specialist C&P Manager is organizationally aligned to and supervised by the COS.
The incumbent is responsible for working collaboratively with local and VISN leadership to identify and/or implement best practices and advising VAMC leadership of all program requirements pertaining to the C&P program. The incumbent will ensure quality assurance and provide oversight for the VAMC C&P program. The C&P Manager is also responsible to ensure that the Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations are reviewed and updated annually (or as needed) to reflect regulations or accreditation standards. The C&P Manager serves as the VAMC's Senior Technical Advisor and as the primary consultant and liaison to the VISN C&P Officer. The incumbent outlines VAMC C&P program goals and objectives, identifies risks, supervises all VAMC C&P employees, ensures training and education, and completes second level reviews as appropriate. The duties of the position include, but may not be limited to the following:
