Applies extensive knowledge of local requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for items requiring special handling. Reviews requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to determine priority supply action required, the status of action, changes in requirements and unexpected requirements, and to expedite delivery of urgently required items through correspondence and telephone calls to inventory control points, manufacturers, or other organizations. Coordinate actions with transportation, production, and other entities.
Ensures the organization strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, products and services; articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Coaches team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques, provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assists in identifying the parameters of a viable solutions. Conducts research and analysis between the Warehouse Management System and Supply Chain Systems to de-conflict customer orders, resolve stuck orders and initiate IT trouble tickets to correct problems with the system.
Leads a team comprised of supply technicians and material handling personnel in performing the following functions - identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product; trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects; and provides or arranges specific technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual tasks.
Incumbent monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the manager's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality has been met. Reports to the manager on status of work activities and causes of work delays. Ensures availability of required plans, materials, and tools, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Creates workload reports to assign, monitor and track work in progress and report on performance to the manager. Contacts are typically internal and external. Internal contacts frequently involve managers and employees from more than one organizational unit to share information, coordinate efforts, and discuss the status of assignments. External contacts typically are with customers and other parties on routine matters. Work is reviewed periodically, typically through status reports and at completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of work activities. Receives administrative and technical supervision from the branch manager who provides policy, guidance, and reviews the assigned work.
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching; lifting (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds); operating material handling equipment; or similar activities. This level of physical demands occurs, for example, when employees are regularly assigned to activities such as tracing misplaced items or conducting physical inventories in storage areas, or when involved in stocking and retrieving items from shelves and cabinets.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-E, (FG/GS 7/8). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Specialized experience includes but is not limited to: distributing supplies and materials; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distribution of supplies and materials; assists in training new employees; maintains current knowledge and answers questions on procedures, policies, etc.; maintains stock by pulling stock, replenishing stock, and maintaining records on stock levels; monitors expiration dates and rotates stock; cleans assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; and receives supplies and material into the facility.
