The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist is responsible for providing facility management and leadership for Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, a park with widely diversified infrastructure and operational complexity in a marine environment. This position serves as a member of the park management team and manages a multi-faceted program through the management of subordinate employees. The major duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is located in northern Wisconsin on the south shore of Lake Superior. The Apostle Islands is a coastal area consisting of 22 separate units, with 21 islands and a 12-mile mainland shoreline area with unlimited access points, encompassing 68,700 acres of land and water locations that are spread out over 452 square miles of western Lake Superior. The park is renowned for its historic lighthouses, fish camps, brownstone quarries, spectacular sandstone cliffs, sand beaches, sea/ice caves, pristine backcountry and the Gaylord Nelson Wilderness Area. Park Headquarters is in the city of Bayfield, Wisconsin. Amenities in Bayfield include basic shopping, dining, and fuel.
