As a National Information Systems Officer, you will:
-Serve as a ONES technical expert for information systems and technology (IS&T) examination issues and provide timely input on IS&T regulatory issues for ONES management, Division of Supervision, and National Field Supervisors.
-Conduct reviews of credit unions and other entities of varying asset size by planning and performing examination and supervision activities to fulfill program objectives associated with information systems and technology.
-Identify potential risks and emerging issues in IS&T activities, such as risk management, logical and physical access controls, internal controls, operational controls, network infrastructure security, telecommunication security, application security, member data integrity, confidentiality and availability, business continuity planning and disaster recovery, security response program, and vendor oversight; and recommends appropriate solutions to resolve information systems and cybersecurity issues.
-Develop IS&T risk models based upon criteria, such as complexity of the technologies in operation and potential risk to the NCUSIF, and coordinates and develops a prioritized IS&T examination schedule.
-Direct, coordinate, and conduct onsite IS&T examinations of credit unions and other entities that are complex or exhibit severe cybersecurity issues at a region and national level.
-Provide training for ONES National Examiners and specialists on IS&T cybersecurity issues as needed and assists the national office with the development and deployment of national IS&T training.
Education is not required for this position nor may it be used to qualify.
If you are selected for this position at the CU-13, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next level through CU-14 provided that you have fulfilled the necessary qualification requirements including any applicable certification processes. Promotion is not automatic and is conditional on demonstrated ability to perform the higher grade level duties, a current written performance appraisal rating of "fully successful" or better, and fulfillment of the necessary qualification requirements.
Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.
SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which does not include locality pay. Actual salary will be determined upon the location of selectee and the applicable locality pay, per the NCUA's CU pay table, will be applied. The locality rates, by location, can be found on the NCUA Careers webpage under the NCUA CU Pay Structure.
EXCEPTION: If you are currently an NCUA employee not employed by ONES, and are selected for a permanent reassignment into this position, management will consider your current salary in relation to the duties and responsibilities of the new position. You may receive up to a 9% salary increase, not to exceed the National Pay Rate (NPR) of the pay grade.
