WHAT DOES A MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST DO? You will plan, and perform the most significant types of managerial assignments encompassing the entire program and functional areas often requiring the integration of cross-functional areas. You will serve as the authority and senior spokesperson to all managerial levels on complex and novel issues requiring knowledge of new or proposed legislation and comprehensive knowledge of tax administration processes in order to disseminate internal and external impact on the Business Unit and its stakeholders.
WHAT IS THE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER FOR OPERATIONS SUPPORT (DCOS) DIVISION? The Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Operations Support provides direction and oversight to the major operational and administrative functions for the IRS in support of its business units that provide taxpayer service and enforcement. Seven divisions are aligned under the DCOS: IT, which operates and maintains the IRS technology portfolio; HCO supports employee workforce of more than 80,000 employees; AWSS provides support services , Facilities Management and Security Services, Continuity Operations, and Credit Card Services for IRS business units; Procurement provides acquisition services for the IRS as well as Treasury Bureaus and Offices; Office of the Chief Risk Officer identifies and assesses risks, ensuring that risk management principles are incorporated into strategies and business decisions at all levels of the IRS; EDI which fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that is free from discrimination and embraces diverse strategies; the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for accounting and control over IRS financial operations, U.S. government-wide revenue accounting; and PGLD division oversees information security across the IRS, assists with protecting taxpayers from identity theft, ensuring security of taxpayer personal data.
