The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
-- Develop and present training courses, seminars, and briefings for employees, supervisors, and managers on all aspects of the assigned program.
-- Provide authoritative information and/or advice to human resource support staff, program managers, operating officials, and applicants on legal or regulatory requirements relating to the assigned program.
-- Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to managers as requested or required to ensure compliance with the customer’s policies and the appropriate law, rule or regulation.
-- Ensure that all human resource actions are processed in accordance with guidelines such as Title 5, United States Code; 5 CFR; OPM; and other federal and agency rules, regulations, and guidelines.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Eligibility Requirements
1) You MUST meet the definition of a STUDENT for the duration of your appointment as follows: An individual accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (high school, college (4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate) in a qualifying and accredited educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled), including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program under Public Law 93–842. Students need not be in actual physical attendance, so long as all other requirements are met. An individual who needs to complete less than the equivalent of half an academic/vocational or technical course-load immediately prior to graduating is still considered a student for purposes of this Program. 2) GPA: Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or 18 semester hours. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the grade 05 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education- In the Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: You must have completed 4 full years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-05, you must have three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service. General experience includes:
- Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; and
- Plan and organize work; and
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
OR
C. You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and experience. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
To qualify for the grade 07 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education- In the Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: You must have successfully completed at least 1 full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university; OR you may have a bachelors degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

B. Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Following practices, processes or guidelines to perform duties or provide services. Examples of positions where this could be gained: providing analysis support, human resources technicians/assistants, regulatory compliance positions, teachers assistants, positions that oversee others or team leads, etc.

C. You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and experience. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
If qualifying with experience, the experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
