Responsible for updates and maintenance of key air traffic orders, manuals, and publications with the use of JSON, Oxygen XML, XSLT, HTML5, JavaScript, React.js, Python, Ruby programming languages. Uses the Jekyll program to code and generate static web applications. Performs Section 508 compliance, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.AA) verification and remediation.
Develops content API for air traffic publications. Additionally, the incumbent performs Quicksilver publication functions for key Air Traffic Control directives, including FAA Orders JO 7110.65, 7110.10, 7210.3, 7340.2, 7350.9, 7400.2, 7610.4, 7930.2, the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), the Pilot Controller Glossary, and the Notices to Airmen Publication (NTAP) in order to incorporate changes and produce the final files necessary for publication, printing, distribution, and posting.
Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform, or present information by means of computer systems for solving complex problems and develop improved technical processes or systems. He/she manipulates back-end data in Oxygen XML, GraphQL or JSON. As the computer scientist, he/she creates, customizes, and manages site collection and sub-site information for SharePoint. He/she writes fully testable code, maintains all web applications, and transforms information. Uses Python programming language and Jekyll static site generator to create and update websites.
He/she analyzes user requirements, designs and develops multiple AJV-P intranet and internet sites, configures and deploys analytical tools for user experience improvement, and extracts data from the analytical tools to provide metrics to support management decision making. He/she conducts analyses in the review and evaluation of program activities to ensure proper program integration and conformance to FAA and ATO policies, completeness, and adequacy of operations in meeting goals and objectives.
In addition to the education requirements: applicant must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to the next lower grade/pay band (FG/GS-13-I) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
