This vacancy is open to GSA OIG candidates who have competitive service and meet time-in-grade restrictions.
The incumbent of this position serves as a Supervisory Auditor who plans, directs, and conducts audits for the OIG's Office of Audits.
The work includes planning and directing the activity of auditors and management analysts as they conduct research; perform audit surveys to identify situations where waste, abuse, and inefficiencies exist; develop constructive recommendations for corrective actions; and prepare audit and other types of reports advising top management officials of audit findings, explaining the significance of conclusions, and justifying recommendations.
The incumbent:
This position has been designated as a Public Trust Position.
If selected, you will be required to complete OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, to determine if a conflict or an appearance of a conflict exists between your financial interest and your prospective position with GSA OIG.

Basic Education Requirements:
Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor."); OR,
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
Specialized Experience:
In addition to meeting the above educational requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or equivalent level.
To qualify for the GS-0511-14 level, a candidate must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0511-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has prepared the applicant with specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Specialized experience must include a supervisory and/or team leading knowledge of professional governmental auditing standards, accounting and internal control systems, and audit methodologies and techniques; overseeing the work of other auditors and management analysts leading teams; presenting review results to upper management; and planning and conducting technical, complex and comprehensive audits.
