As a Area Program Specialist in the Office of Chief Counsel (Finance and Management) you will be responsible for performing a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative duties and functions related to the operation and management of the Field. The incumbent is responsible for applying policy and administrating programs in some or all of the following areas:

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Completing administrative and technical assignments in support of programs or projects; Gathering information; Identifying and analyzing issues and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. The experience may have been gained in the public, private sector, or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
