Applies limited experience and detailed knowledge to plan and accomplish tasks. Has some understanding of how administrative assignments contribute to the activities of the organizational unit. Typical assignments may include: compiling, tracking, and analyzing data; providing advanced computer assistance; scheduling meetings; preparing correspondence; providing written or oral explanations of administrative policies; maintaining records; and assisting with the coordination of new policies and systems. Other activities include employee support regarding travel, time and attendance, labor distribution reporting, and other employee-focused actions. Will be division point of contact for Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests, and outreach actions such as tours.

Contacts are primarily internal to the division and branches, but may have a significant external component. Internal contacts are typically with managers and other employees to share information or discuss the status of assigned tasks. External contacts are typically with stakeholders and other parties on routine matters related to the professional or technical occupation supported.
Established policies/procedures provide guidance for almost all tasks, but provide some discretion to select the most appropriate approach. Works under general instructions provided by a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced employee.
Frequently refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced employee when guidelines are not available or applicable. May assist in developing and recommending solutions on some occasions.
Work is reviewed frequently at major stages of assigned tasks and at completion to ensure timeliness and alignment with the requirements of the project or work activity.
Work activities typically support the work of other employees and contribute to the activities of the organizational unit and the major subdivision.

To qualify for this position at the FV-E (FG/GS-7 through 8) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-D (FG/GS-3 through 6) level in the federal service.
Specialized Experience may include but not limited to: experience gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data.
