The Supervisory Statistician (Medicine) is located in the Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center (CSPCC), Office of Research and Development at Perry Point, MD. The CSP Coordinating Center (CSPCC) is responsible for planning and conducting large Phase II/III, multicenter, controlled clinical trials.

1. Provide supervision to the Biostatistics Section consists of 4 Ph.D. level biostatisticians
2. Provide strategic direction and training to improve the knowledge and performance of the biostatistical support staff.
3. Communicate performance plan at the beginning of the year and performs mid-term and annual reviews of all the section staff.
4. Provide leadership and management to the in-house study teams (that includes a project manager (PM), a statistical programmer, a clinical data manager (CDM) and 1 or 2 data associates or computer assistants) for assigned studies to ensure efficient and effective services in study administration, data management and statistical support;
5. Ensure the assigned CSP studies are conducted according to most updated rules and regulations and ethics requirements (e.g., VA CSP guideline, HIPAA, FDA, ICH, GCP etc.).
6. Provide leadership to the chair's office (PI and the national study coordinator) and the PM to manage day-to-day study related issues that includes recruitment monitoring, monitoring of data collection and submission processes, staff turn overs at participating centers, staff training, issues with completion and submission of informed consent
forms (ICFs) etc.
7. Perform and oversee all CSP clinical trial data analysis to ensure regulatory compliance (with ICH E6 R2 guidelines) that includes the design, development, modification and evaluation of a technical infrastructure to expedite the operation and evaluation of clinical trials.
8. Manage, monitor and perform statistical analysis and develop tracking systems utilizing centralized statistical monitoring to determine the efficiency of the clinical trials.
9. Oversee the evaluation and design of statistical analysis plans for clinical trials assigned to the center.
