WHAT DOES A LEAD CASE PROCESSOR DO? You will perform the full range of Case Processor duties and serve as a work advisor and technical resource to other Case Processors in the office. The incumbent executes support in the assignment, processing and closing of cases from a variety of sources. The duties involve planning, organizing and carrying out varied administrative and clerical activities required for efficient Appeals operations.
As a Lead Case Processor (OA) you will:
In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to type 4o words per minute. Applicants may be asked to participate in a typing/performance test, provide a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or self-certifying their proficiency (which may be verified at a later step in the process). Performance text results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-7 LEVEL: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with programs, policies, practices, and/or priorities in order to provide effective administrative assistance and guidance to the manager and staff. Using automated tax systems (internal and external) and computer software programs (word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, virtual communications) to update, retrieve, and maintain case status and administrative records. Experience in analyzing case information to determine the appropriate procedures to close cases involving multiple work streams. Maintaining and updating a variety of manual and automated tracking systems used in processing cases. Securing, updating, and reviewing case information to build the administrative record. Experience in administrative processes (i.e., inputting travel vouchers, inputting and validating time).
-The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part- time work is considered on a prorated basis.
